How to Repair a Dutchman Panel

purchase this tool at home depot and depress widthwise on dutchman to get curvature of panel

use brake to create 3/16" bend on 50" strip 2" wide

pass 50" x 10" panel through slip roller to match curvature of tool above

Notch & fabricate seam with strip shown above to fit under existing panel as shown

New lip installed...

trimming excess from newly fit strip

position new panel over existing area and make sure to leave overlap toward front to accomodate panel shape at ends

Mark new  panel in front from bottom with awl to match original shape. Also mark along back of new panel for future cutting. Remove panel, flip over and cut along line from awl. Mark existing panel 1.5"  behind the  rear line you marked earlier. This is the actual cut line!

temp install new panel on top of old panel and form edges to exact curve of original.

Point of no return!! Cut out old section!

Notice the original line and the cut line!
